Ancient Rome
We have had two Ancient Cultures Fests others so far, Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. See pictures here.Here is the scoop. You and your children can research: go to the web, bookstore or Library to get resources on Ancient Rome. Do a basic study on the area, then pick a specific subject or area that you would like to do a further study on in which to make a presentation to the group. Some of the areas, would be...Religion, government, architecture, Tools, weapons and war, Arts and Science, Food and agriculture, clothing and jewelry; the sky is the limit.
Your child can give a speech or make something or do something to present to the group.
The festival will be at our house in Dunedin. Everyone will be asked to bring a Roman dish for our pot luck feast. You will probably want to mock up some simple costumes, using old sheets and such.
We have had a blast at the last two and would love for you to join us. Please email me or call me to let me know if you are interested in joining us. If you have any questions or need help with ideas, let me know that too. There is not a date set yet, however it will probably be in October. I will let you know when we have a date. Also, please coordinate with me what area your child wants to cover, so that we can have a variety covered and presented.
